‘It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"'
-AA Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
‘Love with all your heart; not tomorrow, yesterday, but right now..’
I started practicing as a way to exercise. It was an activity I could do at the time, me being not a very physically active person till that point! The more I did, the more I enjoyed the feeling it gave me - freedom in my body to move which subsequently really changed my mind's outlook, and strength both in body and mind.
A turning point in my practice was when my father passed away. That is when the practice became a little more important than a physical activity - for me, the physical strength of the practice that I was developing started to translate to mental strength and it completely helped pull me through that time of my life (and still does). It is a passion to share this with others this practice that has the ability to be such a rock in my life.
Charlene's yoga secret:
I do enjoy giving much thought, time and attention to mobilise, strengthen and activate areas I'm stuck in, using repetitions of yoga drills and freeing up those areas and release tightness with tennis ball massages and long Yin stretches.
