Product Developer (Published 29/11/19)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the creative team at 3RD ROCK as Product Developer. Be a key player in developing functional and fashionable 3RD ROCK products at a quality, and level, which pleases both the brand, producers and the 3RD ROCK community.

 

Sitting with the design and production departments, a design/development background within a fashion and clothing environment is required. The Product Developer will be involved in developing seasonal collections from design concept through to prototypes. Often this will involve trips overseas for sourcing and communicating new products with suppliers, whether it is for womenswear, menswear or accessories. The role involves planning, developing and presenting performance-focused products for this specific market.

 

This role requires high versatility and varied skills, from understanding garment construction, drafting 1st patterns, sewing prototypes, producing detailed tech packs, sourcing trims and fabrics and communicating with suppliers, analysing costs, liaising with factories and following the complete development of products from initial drawings to final salesman samples. This role will also involve travelling to offshore factories to follow progress and check production.

 

To become a 3RD ROCK Product Developer you will need a good understanding of the design process involved within the clothing industry, consumer spending, target market, and the impact of textiles and clothing on the environment and its inhabitants.

 

Essential Experience, skills and person specifications:

 

  • Excellent understanding of product development and production.
  • Technical knowledge of garment construction and garment fitting of both Men’s and women's athletic apparel.
  • Ideally have at least at least 2 - 4 years’ experience in a similar role in the industry.
  • Pattern cutting - ability to draft paper patterns (essential)
  • Interpret patterns and prototypes into detailed size charts
  • Good sewing skills and ability to sew prototypes in house (essential)
  • Knowledge of size/fit/grading of apparel and industry standards.
  • Highly competent IT skills (Excel, Word). A knowledge of Illustrator.
  • Ability to create accurate tech packs and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of specification management, product costing,
  • Ability to define problems, propose alternative garment execution, to fully optimize garment targets of design, quality and price.
  • Ability to facilitate problem solving and address issues in a timely manner
  • Successful project management skills and knowledge of the product cycle and product development timelines.
  • A team player that will drive processes with other team members.
  • Accountability and ownership of issues and follow through in precise detail
  • Detail oriented with strong written and oral communication,
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel abroad for short periods

Business Developer (Published 29/11/19)

We're currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced business developer and sales professional for our wholesale channel to grow our international sales

 

Overview

In this part-time role you will be in charge of the below main activities:

  • Sales - growing our wholesale channel overseas and in the UK and identifying opportunities within the outdoor, activewear and climbing markets.
  • Account management - developing existing relationships with key accounts

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Researching and acquiring leads for relevant accounts, agents and distribution channels worldwide
  • Approaching new potential accounts, developing initial relationships and sales
  • Full responsibility for the continual and consistent maintenance of key accounts
  • Dealing with all customer account enquires from initial call to order processing, right through to invoice stage
  • Production of orders, quotes and confirmations
  • Liaising with stock, logistics and distribution ensuring orders are despatched in line with service level agreements
  • Organising regular meetings with Retail Buyers to discuss and review intake of Season product
  • Keeping accounts informed of order status and immediately highlighting any delays
  • Account reviews
  • Production of key reports required for senior management team
  • Query resolution

 

Essential Experience, skills and person specifications:

 

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Existing business relationships in the outdoor/climbing industry in the UK, Europe and the USA
  • Able to understand and empathise with customer needs whilst balancing their needs with that of the Company.
  • Willingness to travel - you will be meeting with customers regularly
  • Demonstrable experience, building professional rapport and maintaining strong relationships with Key Account/Blue Chip customers.
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural commercial drive
  • Good analytical and numeracy skills, including ability to analyse data and draw relevant conclusions
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills
  • Passion for sustainability and the outdoors

An exciting new opening where you will have the opportunity to set and implement our end-to-end digital strategy!

 

All things digital marketing: Strategy > planning > implementation > monitoring > analysis > optimisation

 

  • Co-Creating the brand's digital marketing strategy.
  • Forming a detailed annual digital marketing plan with measurable KPIs.
  • Executing the digital marketing plan.
  • Analysing the success of our digital marketing efforts and improving upon them.

 

Social media marketing:

  • You will be responsible for managing all of the social platforms at 3RD ROCK, creating amazing social content and telling the story of the brand in an engaging and inspiring way. Passionate about fitness and fashion you are a natural storyteller and love to push the boundaries of creativity. Working within the dynamic, fast-paced Brand and production team, you will create impactful and engaging social content and campaigns to ensure our feeds are elevated, curated and reflect our brand DNA.

  • Day to day management of social media platforms. Scheduling and publishing all content, alongside responding and engaging with audiences on all platforms.
  • Oversee daily, weekly and monthly social reporting.


Newsletter marketing

  • Creating and scheduling email campaigns which will form part of the digital strategy.
  • Monitoring and analysing performance of the campaigns

 

Website content and eCommerce optimisation:

  • Optimising overall website and ensuring a best in class user experience which is fully search optimised focused on conversion.
  • Creating imagery and blogs (outsource where needed).


Affiliate program management support:

  • Brand’s ambassador – recruiting, managing.
  • Product placements – sourcing suitable affiliates for collaborations, executing and managing.

 

Advertising:

  • PPC advertising: Google and FB ads. Creating and optimising ads.
  • Banner advertising on relevant magazines: creating and optimising ads in line with the digital strategy.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
