Hey guys! My name is Kyuri Lin @kyurious.anahata and I'm going to be taking over the 3RD ROCK Instagram over the coming days. I want to share with you some stories from the road and my top tips for yoga poses to help all you climbers out there, you can follow along on the 3RD ROCK stories during this week. . I'm a yogi that has been practicing for 7 years and teaching for 4, you can find out more about my story on the 3RD ROCK website. . 2 years ago I quit my job and took to the road in our van with my partner @szymoneye and our dog Izzy all the way from Fairbanks, Alaska to Usuhaya, Argentina. . In the first slide you can see the beautiful salt flats of Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia and the following slides as an idea of how our trip planned out. 📷 @szymoneye . . . . .

@kyurious.anahata taking over. Our trip started in the beautiful state of Alaska, USA. We couldn't miss the opportunity to hike the the Mint Hut, high up and perched between the mountains. It was a beautiful experience and all 20 miles ( round trip) was worth it! . . We then made our way down through the States to where our trip really started in earnest, Mexico. Here we had our first outdoor climbing experience of the journey. El Potrero Chico in the Hidalgo province, here we met a group of climbers from the States and had a blast scaling the massive walls. . . After the long hours on the road it was important to balance out our bodies and minds by practicing yoga in one of our favorite spots: Laguna Bacalar, the lagoon of 7 colours in the Yucatan province of Mexico. A truly beautiful spot as we prepared for the next chapter of our journey. . . . .

@kyurious.anahata taking over. Peru was a country that has left a real mark on us, we saw some breathtaking sights like Montaña de Siete Colores (the Mountain of Seven Colours). A sight a lot of us are already familiar with from pictures, but what no one mentions is the elevation (over 5000 meters) or crowds. We took time to acclimate and started the hike at 3.30am. Being able to enjoy the views at sunrise was incredible and the whole experience was worth every ounce of effort. . . I thought snow boarding was hard, until I tried sand boarding for the first time. We got to experience this awesome activity while visiting Huacachina, a desert oasis in the south west of Peru. The desert landscape was incredible and the walk up the sand dunes was a challenge, so we made every ride down count! . . Again, after such excitement and long hours in the van, it was a pleasure to get back to practicing yoga at the serene Samadhi retreat center in the Sacred Valley of Peru. It's so important to collect yourself before starting another leg of a journey. . . . .

@kyurious.anahata taking over. Our final destination of this epic road trip was Argentina and we couldn't resist stopping in Patagonia to take in Monte Fitz Roy. Hiking around Fitz Roy was something we looked forward to from the beginning of the trip. The views didn't disappoint and the transformation of summer to fall in the changing colors made everything that much more memorable. . . 20 months from when the trip began, our final stop Ushuaia, Argentina. We finally arrived at the southern tip of the continent. We arrived just as the area got its first snow fall and everything was dusted in white making it a truly beautiful end to a life changing 2 years on the road. We will be forever thankful for all the experiences we had along the way, the people we met and the sights we saw. . . For now it's back to reality and the beginning of my 1000 hour course in Yoga therapy in Vancouver, Canada.
